Heat Systems

The most common heating systems in Indiana are gas and electric furnaces but there are several other ways to heat your home. Swift Air Mechanical handles just about all types of heating systems and with over 16 years of experience can professionally install and service the equipment we sell. The heating systems of today are more efficient than ever before and their high quality provides years of comfort for our customers. In fact, the warranties on the heating equipment we install today are the best in the industry.

How a heat pump works?
A heat pump looks just like an air conditioner, but it does double duty, acting as a heater in the winter and an air conditioner in the summer. In the winter it captures the heat that is always present in outside air - even down to zero degrees or less - and pumps it into your home.

In the summer, because of its unique switchover valve, a heat pump reverses the flow of refrigerant in order to pull the heat out of your home and transfer it outdoors. It's this switchover valve that effectively converts a heat pump from a heater to an air conditioner, giving you the best of both worlds.

Dual Fuel
A dual fuel system combines a high efficiency heat pump with an existing home furnace to create one system that heats, cools, and save energy and money.

The high-efficiency cooling and heating from a heat pump and auxiliary heat from your existing system makes the dual fuel system the best for comfort and efficiency.

The Dual Fuel heat pump system

The Dual Fuel heat pump system is designed to boost your heating efficiency. When the Heat Pump is running, your furnace doesn't have to. And since it can cost 31-52% less to move heat then to make it, you save money. The heat pump will keep the average home comfortable until the temperature outside drops near freezing. It's only when your home starts to lose heat faster then the heat pump can replace it that your furnace needs to take over. This way you get top efficiency from both units.
